CRYPTIC CHEMISTRY

Your phone is still talking when you're not

A Faraday bag that actually seals. Slip your phone in and it goes dark — no cell, no GPS, no Wi-Fi, no Bluetooth. First production run is limited.

The problem

Off isn't off

Location history keeps building. Apps wake up in the background. Bluetooth beacons answer stores you walked past. Your phone doesn't stop reporting because you stopped looking at it.A Faraday bag is the only thing that stops it at the physics level — not a setting you have to trust, not a permission you have to revoke. No signal in, no signal out.

Why most bags fail

The seal is the whole product

Shielding fabric is a commodity. What separates a bag that works from one that leaks is the closure. A single fold across the opening leaves a gap, and at Wi-Fi frequencies a gap that size behaves like an antenna — a doorway straight through your shielding.Ours is built long enough to roll twice with real overlap, with paired seams down both sides. That's the unglamorous detail nobody puts on a product page, and it's the one that decides whether the bag does anything at all.

Who's behind this

I'm Tim. I've been writing about digital privacy at Cryptic Chemistry for a while — secure email, operating systems that don't phone home, what Apple and Microsoft actually collect. Most privacy gear is a rebadged import with invented specs and a markup. I'm building the version I'd want: honest numbers, published testing, and a straight answer when you email me. FAQ

Will my phone still charge in it? No. Nothing goes in or out, power included. That's the point. Is my phone damaged by being in there? No — it just loses signal. Battery drains a bit faster while it searches, so don't store it in there for days. How is this different from the $12 pouch on Amazon? Mostly the seal and the seam construction, and whether anyone measured it. We'll show you our test data. Most listings won't.When does it ship? Not yet — we're in sampling. Join the list and you'll get a real date, not a countdown timer.
